Chamara Moore

B.A., English, University of Southern Mississippi

Ms. Moore’s primary interests are oriented towards Black Feminist theory, Intersectionality, 20th Century African-American Literature, and Media Studies—particularly the misogynoir present in films, tv, and comics.  Her research examines black female empowerment through iconography in popular culture ranging from comic depictions of the American superhero, to politically conscious music videos from artists such as Janelle Monáe and Beyoncé.
