Emily Hershman

Emily is in her second year of the doctoral program at the University of Notre Dame and specializes in twentieth century British and Irish Studies.  Her research interests focus on the relationship between script and visual semantics of performance in Irish drama, particularly the society comedies of Oscar Wilde.  Other recent projects have examined Irish theatre in a comparative global context, exploring connections between playwrights and works of the Irish Free State period and the Weimar era.
